Therapy that meets your specific needs
In psychotherapy there are different techniques that can be used to help our patients, depending on the nature and intensity of their complaints and the goals they would like to achieve. However, what remains the most important aspect in psychotherapy is the therapeutic relationship i.e., the relationship between the patient and the therapist. It is within this relationship that change is possible. Interactions, thoughts, emotions and behaviours can be observed and understood in order to promote change and development when and were needed.
A number of different forms of therapy in more detail
Specific techniques that I use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Focused Therapy (SFT). All these techniques are incredible powerful in the treatment of diverse psychopathology. A lot of research has been conducted on these interventions and there is an incredible amount of literature about them. They are among the techniques considered "evidence based" because their effectivity in the treatment of psychopathology has been scientifically validated.
Also through online therapy
A large proportion of the patients who come to my practice are expats and therefore I also offer online therapy, so we may continue our therapy even after you leave the Eindhoven area or The Netherlands. Apps such as Skype work well, but other apps that combine visual and auditory communication are also possible (e.g. Facetime).
